Radar Navigation, Radar Plotting and Use of ARPA
Training Objective:
In accordance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) Code, including its amendments, 1978, the aim of this training is to ensure that personnel assigned to navigation duties on board ships at the rank of Chief Mate or higher meet the minimum competency standards required by Regulation A-II/1 of the STCW Code. Upon completion of this training, participants should possess proficient theoretical knowledge and correct operational and inspection methods regarding radar operation, including how to acquire targets, display various types of information, understand its limitations, and ensure accuracy, in order to ensure the safety of navigation at sea.
